PROVERBS 3:7-14

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.

On my way home the other day, God was reminding me and summarized my faith journey:

The first time I heard Him, I was in my college dorm room.

You know the first time you realize life just not fair. Well, I was trying to study for midterms and I just couldn't. I was frustrated and just stopped and began to cry.

I heard an audible voice and God said LOUD AND CLEAR:

"Forgiveness is your greatness."

And it was startling, but not scary and all of a sudden; I immediately felt at peace.

Even then I heard him, but I wasn’t moved.

I didn’t know what seeds he was planting, but He was taking me from "forgiveness is your greatness," to peace, to surrendering, and now, grace.

God says that there are only two things that are eternal: God’s word and man’s soul

I just wanted to remind you today that even if the sun is dim,

God still cultivates us in the dark.

Even darkness is temporary;

I pray that with a harvest mentality, you get ready to reap the manifestation of the fruits of the spirit as we are called to be light in a dark world; not allowing strife to be a part of our relationships with other people. Remembering that love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth; that Your spirit is free from rebellion and pride, that you have control over your entire being (body, soul and spirit); and that temperance and love are the bookends that hold all the other fruit in place.

Lock into your light.

Get ready to grow, because where He is about to take you, requires His grace to go.
