The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Episode 20: Sticks and Stones

Our words have the power to lift someone up or haunt someone for the rest of their life, so be careful what you say to others and be careful in how you speak to yourself.

But think about that - our words have the power to create or to destroy.

Your words go much further than you realize.

It is your strongest weapon, if you use it righteously.

The Bible says the tongue is like the rudder to a ship

steered by wherever the pilot wants to go.

In a sermon I heard this week, the pastor asked, “Have you ever been in a position where you are challenged to speak in the opposite direction of your circumstance?”

Here is the deal.

We all love to think of heaven and God as this beautiful thing like we are prancing through the meadows, but the reality is that faith is learning to be happy and praising God in strange places.

When the devil approached Jesus in the desert after 40 days he said,

“If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

And Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

My kids are going to hate me when they have to learn patience haha

“God forbade the Israelites from entering the Holy Land for 40 years to separate them from Moses.”

Get used to being comfortable while being uncomfortable!

40 years out of place - represents the time it took for a new generation to arise.

God said if you can survive the stones and just hold on long enough,

You will receive my mercy.

But there is no mercy, without the shedding of blood.

So whenever the devil tells you what he thinks, respond back with what you DO have!

The best weapon again sticks, stones, and statements is worship

and your weapon is in the hands of His word.

Amen
